DAN offers divers a variety of programs, including a medical plan that covers transport and emergency treatment. It also gives members the latest information on recreational diving. Members can access a wealth of educational and medical materials and products, as well as receive notification of events and emergency situations.
Scuba diving accident insurance
DAN dive scuba diving accident insurance protects members from the financial costs of an underwater accident. A $35 membership fee is required for an individual and $55 for a household. The DAN also uses it to conduct research and offer emergency medical assistance. Although not necessary for membership, it's a good idea.

The PDE computer data base currently includes 137.451 profiles. These data are gathered from field work, laboratory studies and other research activities that aim to improve dive safety.
PDE stands short for Project Dive Exploration. If you're a DAN diver, you can help the charity by sharing your profile information. To enter the draw, you need to dive at least five times between May 28th 2007 and September 3, 2007. A commemorative T-shirt will be given to divers who have completed 10 or more dives.
