If you're looking for an online learning option to complete your scuba dive certification, you've probably considered PADI's Enriched Air Diver course or SSI's Enriched Air Nitrox course. It's possible that you aren't sure where to start. This article will help you understand the differences and how to get started. Online nitrox certification programs are also discussed.
PADI's Enriched Air Diver course
PADI Enriched Air Diver teaches students to safely plan and prepare enriched air dives. It is computer-based. The classroom portion usually takes place in the evening. This course is compatible to other PADI courses like Open Water Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver. The course includes Nitrox diving, but you can also do them on your own.

The course is delivered through interactive multimedia presentations and audio. These are easy to understand, retain, and use. You will be tested on your skills with short quizzes. The course includes a Quick Review, a practical application session, two enriched air training dives, and pre-dive simulations. PADI recommends completing the eLearning part of the course at the least one year before diving with Nitrox.
SSI's Enriched Air Nitrox course
SSI's EnrichedAir Nitrox course is a great choice for divers who want to extend their bottom times and cut down on their surface intervals. This course covers everything you need to know about gas theory, proper mixing of enriched water, and marking your tank. In this course, you will learn how calculate the perfect enriched-air mix for your depth. You'll also learn how to plan your dives to get the most out of enriched water.
After completing an Open Water Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver course, SSI's EnrichedAir Nitrox course is an ongoing course that will provide you with the knowledge and skills to safely dive with enriched air. You can also use it to plan future dives and reduce decompression sickness. Once you complete the course and pass the exams, you will be able to use the enriched air cylinder safely.
Online training options for nitrox certification
Online or in a classroom setting, you can earn your enriched aviation certification. You will need a computer with a diving program if you take the classroom course. It will take about an hour to complete the classroom portion of your enriched-air certification. You can combine your enriched air certification with a PADI Open Water (or Advanced Open Water) course. If you have limited time, you can also sign up for private classes or take advantage of online learning resources. You can also take the course online, and do the nitrox dives offline.

You will need a dive computer, an air cylinder, and a guidebook to complete the course. You can practice your skills using an app that simulates an enhanced air cylinder if you have an option for online learning. The EANx36 cylinder is compatible with both a classroom and an online eLearning course. For the class to be successful, students must reach minimum 12 years old.
