The Halcyon Active Control Ballast System offers two options for positioning and adjusting your weight pockets. The other option is to place the pockets vertically. Both systems can hold a maximum weight up to 2,6kg. The system can be adjusted to hold the weight you want, and has an integrated Active Control Ballast (ACB) system. You need to ensure your equipment is safe and effective.
Trim your weight
A Trim weight pouch is a new feature on the Halcyon tank weight pockets. This allows divers to shift as much as 10 lb. To increase in-water stability, horizontal trim and reduce gas consumption, the pockets can be attached to their cylinder. The buoyant effect of nearly empty cylinders is counterbalanced by the pockets. A weight pocket allows divers to enjoy more bottom time, less effort and maximize their enjoyment when diving.

Active Control Ballast, integrated system
The ACB can store up to 5 pounds of weight in each pocket. It is vertically integrated and easily releasable. This design allows for easy release and placement, and doesn't take up much space on a diver’s waist belt. An Explorer Light System can attach to the ACB pockets for increased versatility and safety. Side release buckles protect accidental lead weight loss and provide quick access to weights if needed.
Mounting on bottle strap
New tank-mounted trim pockets from Halcyon encourage optimal weight distribution and promote comfort while diving. They are also designed to reduce effort, increase in-water stability, and encourage head-up. The pockets, whether mounted on the tank or not, make it simple to balance your cylinder's mass for optimal in-water stability. Here are some pros and cons of tank-mounted weight pockets.
Heads-up surface airway protection
The Halcyon Trim Weight Pocket from the manufacturer is an ingenious invention. This pocket promotes optimal weight distribution as well as comfortable in-water stability. Divers who use this feature find that they can move weight from their waist to their cylinder, improving horizontal trim and propulsion. Divers can get more out of their dives by increasing their bottom time. In addition to the positive effects of shifting weight from the waist onto the cylinders, Halcyon's Trim Weight Pockets counteract negative effects of near empty cylinders. They reduce effort required for divers to maintain their head and keep them horizontal.

Cost
Halcyon weight pouches are an excellent option for divers looking to improve their diving performance and/or to distribute weight evenly. These pockets can be slipped over the tank's cam bands, and offer a safe place to store additional weight. These pockets can hold up to 5 lbs of ballast depending on what tank you have. Although the cost of Halcyon's weight pockets will vary by brand, they are very affordable.
