Dive master is a professional who helps others get underwater. Dive master is the standard level for those who are responsible for guiding or supervising divers. It is not possible for everyone to become a diving master. With the right qualifications, however, you can be a dive master. Below are some of the benefits you get from becoming a diver master.
A job description for a dive master
What is the job of a divemaster? In short, it involves a variety of duties, including assessing the risks of diving, supervising customer dives, delivering briefings and leading groups through a dive. A dive master's job description can be even more varied. Diver masters may be responsible for many aspects of a dive shop including general operations and social media presence.
Diving instructors teach and supervise scuba techniques in swimming pools or open water. They also supervise activities that are not related to training, such as navigation exercises. Open water instructors lead students through the tour portion of dives. This includes the navigation exercise as well as the surface swim portion. An instructor in diving may also oversee the certification of divers. Dive instructors are subject to different legal obligations. A waiver can be signed by a dive instructor to exempt them from legal liability in certain countries.
Certification requirements
If you'd like to work as a dive master, you'll need to complete a course to learn the skills you need to be a successful Divemaster. The Divemaster course covers everything you need to know about managing divers, setting up dive sites, managing diver flows and finding the right flow for diving. A minimum of 60 dives must be logged in order to qualify. Divers may also be assisted by divemasters to improve their theory and skills.
In addition to taking courses, Dive masters must pass a two-part examination. Candidats must score at most 75% for each section of the exam to pass it. Candidates will be using the PADI Instructor Handbook and the eRDPML for the exam. Students are required to create an emergency response plan and practice five waterskills drills. The sum of all scores must equal at least 15 After completion of the course, divers must obtain certification.
Internships are required
There are many internships available to help you become a divemaster. You can either assist with PADI Courses or help to set up dive spots, depending on your preference. Skill circuits may also require you to help. However, the internship will have a set pattern. A typical internship lasts 8 weeks. During this period, you may be able to become an Advanced Open Water Diver. After four to 6 weeks of training you can become an Advanced Open Water Diver or Divemaster.
You may also be able to find a free internship for Divemasters in addition to paid internships. Even though free internships may not be ideal, they will allow you to get valuable advice and study from a Divemaster. Additionally, you may be able to receive the necessary manuals, certification, and equipment as part of your internship. You should also be aware of the requirements before enrolling in any Divemaster course.
