PADI's Specialty Emergency First Response (EFR+CFC) course is designed to prepare individuals for situations where they may need to apply first aid. You must have the appropriate equipment to complete the course. It is possible to rent equipment. For more information, click here. For those who have some experience but want to refresh their skills, this course can also be used as a refresher.

Course content

EFR is a great tool to improve your ability to manage medical emergencies and increase your confidence. Participants will learn simple emergency procedures and get hands-on experience in a stress-free setting. You will find self-study guides, videos, and quick reference cards. It fulfills all requirements for professional and PADI Rescue Diver courses.

CPR, rescue breathing, scene assessment and basic first aid are some of the topics covered in this course. The training also teaches participants how to treat common diving injuries. This includes learning how to bandage, splint, and prevent infection. Students will also learn to protect their bodies from harmful substances and pathogens. This course teaches you how to save lives and respond to potentially life-threatening situations.

Pre-requisites

PADI Emergency First Responder course is a 1-day program that trains participants to quickly respond to life-threatening medical emergencies. The program includes skills and classroom training as well real-life practice. The course requires no pre-requisites or age requirements.

With the help of quick reference cards or videos, participants are taught how to respond quickly in such situations. This course meets the CPR and first-aid training requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver and all professional levels of the PADI Scuba Diver program. Additionally, many PADI instructors are certified as instructors in Emergency First Response.

Requirements

Participants in Emergency First Responder Training gain confidence and are better equipped to assist others in times of emergency. The course teaches lifesaving skills, such as CPR, first aid, and primary care, and emphasizes the importance of minimizing risks. Non-divers are also taught so they can be more prepared for an emergency.


Upon successful completion of the EFRI program, students are eligible to sit for the PADI Instructor Examination. Each course in the EFRI Program begins with the prefix EFRI. It is numbered sequentially. Each course lasts 1 hour. This includes 55 minutes of class, and five breaks.

Refresher course

The EFR Refresher Course is designed for people who want to brush up on their skills. This course includes two parts: a Skill Building session and an Exam. EFR refresher is optional but highly recommended by the EFR Instructor Guide. The refresher course will teach you the most recent developments in CPR and first aid. The AED will also be taught. In this course, you'll also learn how emergency responders can be trained.

The EFR course is a great way to brush up on your skills and meet the requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver course. It fulfills the requirements for Professional Rescue Diver and other courses that need CPR training. It also includes an Emergency First Response Videos, which help participants prepare for emergencies as well as preview the skills they'll be using during the skills-development session.

Cost

The half-day Emergency First Respond course teaches skills needed in emergency situations. The course includes classroom lessons, video presentations and role-play scenarios.
